Step-by-step vidhi
- Prepare the thali. Arrange roli, rice, a lit diya, kalava, sweets and a coconut on a thali.
- Seat the brother. Seat your brother on a low stool facing north or east and cover his head with a cloth if that is the custom.
- Tilak. Apply roli and rice tilak and tie the kalava on his wrist.
- Aarti and sweets. Perform aarti and feed him a sweet.
- Gift and meal. The brother gives a gift; share a meal together.
